E-reader Taste Test

We’ve tried a bunch, but have yet to find one that is actually tasty.

Also, I started a new blog about the Archive.

still tempted to buy a kindle! so many people tell me they read twice as many books as they used to since they got one. (i’m not getting one though til i finish the stack of books on my “to-read” shelf at home…this may mean never…sigh)

I don’t have a nook, but imagine the user experience is similar to the other e-readers. I dislike this entire class of device. I prefer to read digital books on the OLPC, my iPod Touch, or my laptop.

Two-finger smooth scroll and zoom on my macbook makes for a very good reading experience. Clunky 1-2 second screen refreshes do not.

This might be a good place to point out that the JavaScript bookreader that mang and I work on for the Internet Archive is now being used by Library of Congress, on the read.gov site!
